On behalf of AMURT Foundation, health center staff, and the communities of Ekumenyi, we take this opportunity to extend our deep gratitude to Voice of a Child for the generous contribution that has enabled us to purchase a badly needed ambulance. The brand new Nissan Urvan Ambulance was installed at the Offia Oji Health Center on 31st May, and is now available for use in any emergency. Since 2010, when our AMURT helped to open three health centers in Ekumenyi area, we have seen many emergencies. These are situations that require immediate lifesaving surgery, blood transfusion or specialist care, services that are not available in the remote village health centers. The ambulance will be a life saver, particularly for children and pregnant mothers. The new ambulance is well equipped with oxygen and other facilities to transfer severe cases.
